Meghan Markle just wrapped up her first two week-long royal tour! And it’s safe to say that her feet are in need of a nice long break from her favorite Aquazzura pumps — which is why, on the last day of her tour in Australia, she wore a pair of rather unconventional footwear: slippers!

While taking a stroll through Redwoods Treewalk Rotorua, Meghan sported a pair of black velvet flats from Birdies, a brand that creates stylish flats — that are secretly slippers. The San Fransisco-based footwear brand was founded in 2015 by two women seeking a better pair of shoes that would deliver the same kind of comfort you get from wearing slippers. And Meghan has been a fan for years, often wearing them around Toronto when she and Harry were first dating and posting photos of them to her since-deleted Instagram. Meghan loves Birdies so much that the brand even custom-designed a pair of bridal slippers for her for the big day.

The secret to Birdies’ success? The super-cushioned soles and quilted lining, which all add up to serious comfort; no wonder Meghan, the queen of comfortable shoes, chose to wear these slipper flats to end her tour. And no need for a royal shoe budget to get a pair yourself: You can score her luxuriously cozy The Starling slippers for only $120.

We love the Birdies slippers as an option for holiday events or work, when you need to look dressy but be on your feet all day, but for more casual attire, Meghan has a few other great options, too, like her sustainable Rothy’s flats and her eco-friendly Veja sneakers.

More great news is that our favorite retailer, Nordstrom, just launched an assortment of styles from Birdies' new fall/holiday collection, which includes Meghan's The Starling slippers and her royal bridal slippers known as The Songbird slippers for $140. But like everything else Meghan wears, the exact style/color she wore on her royal tour is already sold out — but there’s still plenty of other equally stylish colors, patterns, and styles available! Though we’re guessing those will sell out quickly, too, so hurry and get your feet in a pair of Duchess-worthy slippers before they’re all gone!
